Anibal Sanchez(2-0), with relief help from Tom Wilhelmsen, shut down the Long
Island Sound hitters at Camden Yards. The Northeast Neanderthals came away
with a 5 to 0 victory.
Long Island was unable to claim the lead after Northeast went ahead in the 3rd
inning plating one baserunner utilizing 2 base hits. That early scoring was
all that Sanchez needed. Overall Northeast out-hit Long Island 11 to 6.
Jake Peavy(2-2) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around by Northeast,
allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
