Ryan Howard slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Monroe Matadors defeated
the California Surf by the score of 10 to 2 at Citi Field.
 
Monroe drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning as
they scored 2 runs on 1 base hits.  Monroe finished with 11 hits in the
victory.  
 
Ryan Rowland-Smith(2-1) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Zack
Greinke(3-2) absorbed the loss.  The Monroe ballclub's record now stands at
10-8.  With the loss, California has a record of 6-4 lately, 11-5 overall.
