Gerrit Cole mowed down 10 Monroe batters as the California Surf defeated the
Monroe Matadors by a score of 4 to 0 at Citi Field.
 
Cole(3-0) was simply too much for the Monroe batters.  He didn't allow much,
just 5 hits and no walks in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 3.60 to 2.77.
California rapped out 9 hits for the night.  
 
R.A. Dickey(1-2) was given the loss.  He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 1
and 1/3 innings.  'I had my good stuff tonight.' Cole said. 'As the game went
along I started to get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of
hitters.'
