Jake Arrieta allowed only 2 hits resulting in a big goose egg on the
scoreboard for Monroe at O.co Coliseum as the California Surf beat the Monroe
Matadors 3 to 0.
Arrieta(4-3) was tremendous on the mound for California. He gave up just 2
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 4th
inning with no runs scored after that point.
Noah Syndergaard(2-1) was tagged with the loss. Gary Kertson was very
impressed with his pitcher, Arrieta, 'He had unusually good pitch placement
tonight. It was almost unfair - but a beautiful game to watch from where I
sat'
